The Maiden's Tower, also called Maiden's,[1] is the easternmost of the seven slender towers of the Eyrie.
Layout
Some of the apartments in the Maiden's Tower are larger and more lavish than in other areas of the Eyrie.[2] For example, one of them has a bedchamber with a hearth and a featherbed with a goose down pillow.[1] It has a dressing room and a privy, and a balcony of carved white stone has views of the Vale of Arryn and the Giant's Lance, including Alyssa's Tears and the three waycastles defending the Eyrie (Sky, Stone, and Snow).[2]
Recent Events
A Feast for Crows
After the death of Lady Lysa Arryn, Alayne Stone is given nicer accommodations in the Maiden's Tower. Alayne's claimed father, Lord Petyr Baelish, gives her Lysa's wardrobe of fine silks, satins, velvets, and furs.[2] The singing of Marillion, a prisoner of the sky cells, keeps Alayne up at night.[1]
After the death of his mother, Lysa, the young Lord Robert Arryn has taken to sleeping in the beds of others instead of his own. Since Robert comes to prefer Alayne's bedchamber the most, she has Ser Lothor Brune lock the child lord in his bedchamber in the Moon Tower one night. The evening after Lord Nestor Royce's visit to the Eyrie, Robert again comes to Alayne's bed as she forgot to have Lothor lock him in again.[1]
When Alayne wakes on the day of Petyr's parley with the Lords Declarant, she has Gretchel tend to the hearthfire. Meanwhile, Alayne pads barefoot across the room and slips outside. Though the stone is cold and the wind is fierce, she enjoys the views of the Vale below and the Giant's Lance above, as well as icicles hanging from the precipice where Alyssa's Tears usually flows. When she looks over the balustrade, Alayne sees the three waycastles defending the Eyrie (Sky, Stone, and Snow), and the hosts of the Lords Declarant around the walls of the Gates of the Moon. Alayne returns inside, where Gretchel helps her dress in one of her aunt's gowns, and Alayne then goes to break her fast in the Morning Hall.[2]
Alayne returns to her chambers one last time before the Arryn court descends to the Gates of the Moon. For protection during winter, the windows have been sealed and shuttered and the furnishings have been covered. Gretchel strips the bed and lays out the clothing Alayne will take. Unfortunately for Alayne, Lysa's fine attire is to be left behind.[3]

Maiden's was the easternmost of the Eyrie's seven slender towers, so she had the Vale before her, its forests and rivers and fields all hazy in the morning light. The way the sun was hitting the mountains made them look like solid gold.[2]
