Petyr Piper was the Lord of Pinkmaiden and the head of House Piper during the reign of kings Viserys I and Aegon II Targaryen.[2]

Appearance and Character

By 129 AC, Petyr was a grizzled old man.[2]

History

In 105 AC, Lord Petyr swore his fealty to Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen as the heir of King Viserys I Targaryen. At the start of the Dance of the Dragons, Lord Petyr stayed true to his word and supported the blacks and Rhaenyra's claim to the Iron Throne.[2]

At the Battle at the Red Fork, Lord Petyr and Lord Tristan Vance faced the westermen army commanded by Jason Lannister, Lord of Casterly Rock. In the aftermath of the battle Petyr knighted Pate of Longleaf, a squire who killed Lord Jason, dubbing him "Longleaf the Lionslayer".[1]

Lord Piper died in a battle at Acorn Hall against the invading westermen. According to Mushroom, his heart burst at the sight of his favorite grandson's head upon a spear. Petyr was succeeded by Lord Stanton Piper.[3][4]

Quotes by Petyr

I swore her my sword. I'm older now, but not so old that I've forgotten the words I said, and it happens I still have the sword.[2]

—Petyr, on his oath to Rhaenyra Targaryen

Behind the Scenes

Petyr Piper may be a reference to the nursery rhyme Peter Piper.
