A smithy is a workshop where a blacksmith heats and works metal.
Culture
[edit]Smithyton is the seat of House Shermer in the Reach.[1]
Several castles have a smithy, such as Dragonstone,[2] Mole's Town,[3] Deepwood Motte,[4] Acorn Hall,[5] and Coldmoat.[6] Harrenhal's smithy is a long building in the shape of a tunnel with twenty forges, stone water troughs, and a high roof.[7]
History
[edit]Journeymen and apprentices, such as Gendry, work in Tobho's smithy in his shop, a cavernous stone barn found in the narrow yard behind the house, with each corner of the building having a blazing forge.[8]
