Valarr's children?

I can't pin down where it's said that Valarr had sons. Anyone have a source to this? I'm thinking that possibly the family trees are featuring an error: an attempt to fit together the idea that Aemon was 9th or 10th in line, which someone tried to fix by assuming Valarr had two sons... only for us to learn that Rhaegel had twin children in TMK. But I could be wrong. A source for Valarr being a father would be great. --Ran 21:04, 25 September 2012 (UTC)

The source for his children is The Mystery Knight it States that his wife bore him 2 stillborn sons. He did not have any children who lived.see Template:Targaryen tree Daeron II --Ser Ash the Red 23:32, 12 October 2012 (UTC)

Valarr's Handship

In TSS, Septon Sefton says that Valarr was the Hand of the King when he died. Does anyone know why he wasn't listed among the Hands before I edited it? Francisco Araujo da Costa 21:29, 12 July 2014 (UTC)

I think that was because some people found the description a little vague.. They saw it as a possibility that Valarr and the Hand had been two different people, since there was a "," in between. For what it's worth, I read it as Valarr having been the Hand as well.. --Rhaenys_Targaryen 22:13, 12 July 2014 (UTC)

I checked the discussion of the list of Hands, where I had noted that Valarr couldn't have been his uncle's hand, since he predeceased Aerys's reign. Rereading TSS today, I found the passage you mentioned. I should've double-checked that passage back then, but I think now it's all cleared up. Thanks, Rhaenys. Death

So how could Valarr die of the spring sickness? I thought Targaryens were immune to common sicknesses?--DavosSeaworth3101 19:17, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

It has never been stated that Targaryens are immune to sickness ;) And the fact that Valarr, Matarys and Daeron II all died of illness, as presumably Jaehaerys II (he was a sickly man), that obviously seems to be not true.

Just like Targaryens are not immune to fire, but able to simply tolerate it some better (as demonstrated by Egg in Dorne), they might also be able to tolerate disease better. However, that last part is pure speculation. In short, it has thus been proven wrong that Targaryens can't get ill, because we see them dying of illness.--Rhaenys_Targaryen 19:36, 5 September 2014 (UTC)
