Buford Bulwer (or Theomore Bulwer[N 1]), better known as the Old Ox, was a knight of House Bulwer during the reigns of Kings Daeron II and Aerys I Targaryen.[1]
Appearance and Character
[edit]Early in the reign of Aerys I Targaryen, Buford is past sixty, and has become fat and soft. He is blind in his right eye. During the wedding tourney at Whitewalls, he wore blood red armor and a helm decorated with black bull's horns on either side. He was considered a knight of some renown.[1]
History
[edit]Buford is said to have slain forty men in the Battle of the Redgrass Field in 196 AC. However, according to Ser Maynard Plumm, the number Buford had slain on the Redgrass Field grew higher every single passing year.[1]
Ser Buford attended the Whitewalls tourney in 212 AC. He faced Ser Uthor Underleaf in the lists, but was defeated in the fifth tilt. He was injured upon being unhorsed and taken to the maester.[1]
