Wolfsbane is a poison.[1] It is probably similar to aconitine, a real-life toxin commonly known as "wolfsbane"; the plant may have been used to kill wolves.

[edit]Tyrion Lannister sees wolfsbane in Pycelle's collection of medicines and poisons in the Red Keep.[2]
A Storm of Swords
[edit]Pycele is a witness during Tyrion's trial for the death of King Joffrey I Baratheon. Wolfsbane is among the many small jars of poison which the Grand Maester identifies for the prosecution, with Pycelle claiming that Tyrion stole the poisons from his collection.[1]
