===Bastards === 
[[Bastardy|Bastards]] do not have the right to use the arms of their families. Thus, a typical Westeros custom is that a bastard using a sigil (when knighted, for example) adds a distinction. This can be in the form of a color inversion of their family's coat of arms, or possibly with the addition of a red ''bend sinister''.
