Lord Paramount is a title granted by King Aegon I Targaryen to some lords of the Seven Kingdoms during Aegon's Conquest, seemingly to those Great Houses who had not previously ruled their respective territories as kings. These are:
- Lord Paramount of the Mander[1] (also called Lord Paramount of the Reach)[2]
- Lord Paramount of the Stormlands[3]
- Lord Paramount of the Trident[1][4]
Aegon also allowed the ironborn to choose their own lord paramount, rather than make them vassals to House Lannister or House Tully. They chose Vickon Greyjoy, Lord Reaper of Pyke.[5]

[edit]Lord Petyr Baelish is named Lord Paramount of the Trident by King Joffrey I Baratheon, shifting the title from House Tully of Riverrun to House Baelish, the newly-minted lords of Harrenhal.[6]
