The Lord Reaper of Pyke is the traditional style of the head of House Greyjoy, who rule from the castle of Pyke on the island of the same name.[1]
History
During the age of the driftwood kings, the ironborn were infamous for raiding the green lands of the kingdoms of Westeros, taking food back to the Iron Islands as autumn waned and winter approached. Even in the worst of winters, the ironborn ate off the food that was planted, sowed, and harvested by the men of the green lands, and so "We do not sow" became the boast and words of House Greyjoy, who began styling themselves as Lords Reaper of Pyke.[2]
The Lords Reaper have sat the Seastone Chair as the Lords of the Iron Islands since the War of Conquest, when the lords of the Iron Islands selected Vickon Greyjoy, Lord Reaper of Pyke, as their lord paramount.[3][4]
