Old Pate has a cottage in the riverlands near the Inn of the Kneeling Man.[1]
Appearance
Old Pate does not resemble Arya Stark[1]
Recent Events
A Storm of Swords
Old Pate is slain by forces from House Lannister[2] during the War of the Five Kings. Tom of Sevenstreams buries him beneath a willow.[1]
Arya Stark, Gendry, and Hot Pie gather vegetables at the cottage of Old Pate. His cottage is burned and his garden overgrown. When Tom of Sevenstreams, Lem and Anguy approach the cottage, the children try to hide, but one of their horses gives them away. The men say they are king's men and ask the children to come with them to a nearby inn, where there's food, and where they can bring whatever they stole from Old Pate's garden. Arya denies stealing anything, but Tom says she's not Old Pate's relative and doesn't have his look, and not to lie to him, as he buried Pate himself.[1]
Later, in the hollow hill, Tom accuses Sandor Clegane of murdering Old Pate, among many others in the riverlands slain by Lannister forces, but Sandor says the names mean nothing to him, and he was not the one who killed them.[2]
