Moqorro is a red priest in service to the R'hllor faith.

Appearance

Moqorro skin is black as pitch, he is over six foot tall with a belly like a boulder, a tangle of pure white hair grows from his face like a mane of a lion and Red Fire tattoos are inked across his cheeks and forehead.

A Dance with Dragons

Moqorro is a red priest of the R'hllor faith who was sent by High Priest Benerro to offer guidance and help to Daenerys Targaryen.

Like Melisandre he can see the future in the flames, though his predictions are much more accurate. He joined the crew of the ship Selaesori Qhoran heading to Qarth although according to him he knew the ship would not reach Qarth but would lead him to Slaver's Bay. He wished to see Daenerys Targaryen and when Jorah Mormont learned of this, he booked passage on the ship so he could take his prisoner Tyrion Lannister to Daenarys also. However the ship was spotted and boarded by slaver ships (this was predicted by Moqorro but unknown to the crew). In the ensuing battle, Moqorro was lost overboard and the crew and other passengers were enslaved.

Moqorro was discovered clinging to wreckage out to sea ten days later by the Iron Fleet commanded by Victarion Greyjoy. The crew wanted him put to death and shouted such but Moqorro was unafraid and calm the whole time, which further unnerved the crew. Moqorro spoke to Victarion directly and told him he knew of his quest to seek the Dragon queen and that Victarion would die (from his wounded hand) without Moqorro's help. Using magic, Moqorro managed to cure Victarion's wound and also used magic to aid Victarion in his quest. He had Victarion kill the ship's maester, Kerwin, to bring good winds (just as Melisandre once did when she had Stannis burn Alester Florent to grant his fleet favorable winds to Eastwatch).

Since his red garb was ruined in the sea Victarion had one of his crew make Moqorro a robe from the black and gold of the Greyjoy sails. Victarion's crew live in great fear of Moqorro and among them he is known as "Black Flame". This name given to him by Steffar Stammerer, who could not pronounce Moqorro's name properly.

Moqorro studied the glyphs on the Dragon Horn and next plans to make Victarion the master of the Dragon Horn so he can bind the dragons to his will.
