Ygritte

Introduction

Ygritte is a wildling woman with red hair who becomes Jon's lover.

History

After an affair with Jon where they travel accross the haunted forest and climb over the wall along with a wildling band, Jon deserts her for Castle Black without realizing the full gravity of his action. She is killed by watchmen under Jon's command along with the rest of the wildling band, and Jon correctly blames himself. After her death Jon becomes cold and distant, and never regains his former passion for life.
