The Braavosi Mero, better known as the Titan's Bastard, was the commander of the Second Sons, the sellsword company. He was tall with pale green eyes, a long, bushy red-gold beard. He has an evil reputation, a reputation which has made it hard for the Second Sons to find work under his command.[1]

A Storm of Swords
Mero commanded the Seconds Sons in the defense of Yunkai against the forces of Daenerys Targaryen. At a parley with Daenerys, he asked to ponder her offer of gold in exchange for switching sides. He asked for a wagon of wine to share with his men while they mulled her offer. She freely gave them the wine. This turned out to be a poisoned gift, as Daenerys's forces attacked just as the Second Sons were getting drunk on the wine. His company routed and unable to fight, Mero fled before he could be captured.[2]
He had fled into the gathered refugees that followed Daenerys to Meereen. There, when Daenerys rode through the refugee camps, he attempted to kill her. He had shaved his beard to hide his appearance. He was stopped from killing Daenerys by Arstan, and was torn apart by the freedmen in the camps.[3]
