Gunthor, known as Gunthor son of Gurn because of his father, is a leader of the Stone Crows, one of the Vale mountain clans from the Mountains of the Moon.
Appearance and Character
[edit]Gunthor is a thin man with a horned helmet and a long knife.[1] Tyrion Lannister believes the suspicious Gunthor to be a chief of the Stone Crows.[1]
Recent Events
[edit]A Game of Thrones
[edit]Gunthor is one of the mountain clansmen whom Tyrion Lannister and Bronn encounter in the Mountains of the Moon. Gunthor is wary of the lowlanders and is ready to have his Stone Crows kill Bronn and enslave Tyrion, but Tyrion gains the clansmen as allies by promising them the Vale of Arryn.[1]
While other clansmen leave the mountains with Tyrion, Gunthor stays behind to raise the other clans.[2]
A Storm of Swords
[edit]When Sandor Clegane and Arya Stark attempt to enter the Mountains of the Moon, they are warned off by the locals, who explain that some mountain clans have become bolder after returning from King's Landing. Gunthor is mentioning as having led Stone Crows in raiding a village half a year ago, killing half the men, kidnapping every woman, and stealing all the grain.[3]
