Lemon cakes are a type of lemon-flavored small sweet baked dessert cake, often served at feasts. They are a favorite of Sansa Stark.[1][2][3] Lord Robert Arryn also loves lemon cakes, after Alayne Stone told him they were her favorites.[4][5]

Recent Events

A Game of Thrones

Lemon cakes are served in Queen Cersei Lannister's wheelhouse,[6] and at the feast for the Hand's Tourney.[1]

A Clash of Kings

Lemon cakes in the shape of roses are served at King Renly Baratheon's feast for the Melee at Bitterbridge.[7]

A Storm of Swords

Sansa Stark's love for lemon cakes is so well known that Varys informs the Tyrell party, who prepare the delicacy for her first meeting with Margaery Tyrell and her family.[2]

A Feast for Crows

At the Gates of the Moon, when Petyr Baelish tells Sansa Stark he has brought her a gift, something better than gowns or jewels, she asks him if he has brought lemons, as she has promised young Lord Robert Arryn lemon cake.[4]

A Dance with Dragons

In the House of Black and White, the kindly man gives Arya Stark a drink that is so tart, she compares it to biting into a lemon, which reminds her of a girl she once knew who loved lemon cakes.[8]

Petyr Baelish acquires every lemon in the Vale for a twelve-foot-tall lemon cake in the shape of the Giant's Lance for the feast before the tourney to select the Brotherhood of Winged Knights, to please Lord Robert Arryn and Alayne Stone.[5]
