Warden of the Southern Marches is a title created by King Robb Stark, King in the North, for Ser Brynden Tully. Robb creates the title when he marches north to attend the wedding of Edmure Tully and retake Moat Cailin. Remaining at Riverrun, Brynden is named warden and tasked with defending the Riverlands, the southern territory of Robb's combined Kingdom of the Trident and the North.[1]
