Aemon Blackfyre was the second son of Daemon Blackfyre. He was Aegon Blackfyre's younger twin brother.^[4]

Appearance and Character

According to Alyn Cockshaw, Aemon and his twin were "witless bullies," just as he viewed Duncan the Tall. Alyn recalled that the twins took pleasure in tormenting him and their brother, Daemon the Younger.^[5]

History

Aemon was the secondborn of the children of Daemon Blackfyre and Rohanne of Tyrosh.^[3] He had an older twin brother, Aegon, and five younger brothers: Daemon, Haegon, Aenys, and two whose names are currently unknown. He also had at least two sisters.^[5]

According to Alyn Cockshaw, the twins took pleasure in tormenting him and their younger brother, Daemon. Daemon once had a prophetic dream about the deaths of Aemon and Aegon, but the disbelieving twins only laughed at their brother.^[5]

During the First Blackfyre Rebellion, when Aemon was twelve years old, he served as a squire to his father.^[6] At the Battle of the Redgrass Field, Aemon's twin, Aegon, was killed by the arrows of Brynden Rivers^[4] and his Raven's Teeth.^[3] Unwilling to leave him, Daemon remained by his fallen son's side, and was also struck down by arrows, supposedly driven by Bloodraven's magic. Aemon took up the sword Blackfyre from his dying father, but was then slain by the archers as well.^[4]
