Goat tracks are narrow, steep, and rugged paths in the mountains of Westeros, such as the mountains of the Moon in the Vale,[1] the Red Mountains of Dorne,[2] and the northern mountains in the North.[3]
History
[edit]Ser Artys Arryn used a goat track at the foot of the Giant's Lance to surprise the First Men during the Battle of the Seven Stars.[1]
The followers of the Vulture King entered the Reach from goat tracks in the Red Mountains.[2]
During the Third Dornish War, the host of Lord Rogar Baratheon proceeded on foot along goat tracks while hunting the second Vulture King.[4]
King Daeron I Targaryen used a goat track to bypass watchtowers on the Boneway during his conquest of Dorne.[3]

A Dance with Dragons
[edit]Jon Snow, now Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, advises King Stannis Baratheon to bring sure-footed garrons who can handle goat tracks in the northern mountains.[3]
