Hagen, along with the rest of Asha's supporters, sails to Deepwood Motte with Asha as she contemplates her next move after the kingsmoot on Old Wyk.[1]

While standing watch over the castle with Cromm, Hagen blows his horn when they spot two northmen infiltrating Deepwood. He sounds his horn when Asha rallies her men, and he blows three short blasts to inform the ironborn that they are to retreat tow their ships in the Bay of Ice. Hagen is struck in his belly by an arrow while descending the watchtower, however, and falls headfirst. Rolfe the Dwarf pulls Hagen's daughter away as the ironborn flee before the army of Stannis Baratheon.[1]

Quotes by Hagen

Hagen: If we die with dry feet, how will we find our way to the Drowned God's watery halls?

Quotes about Hagen

AHooooooooooooooooooooooo, the warhorn cried, long and low, a sound to curdle blood. Asha had begun to hate the sound of horns. On Old Wyk her uncle's hellhorn had blown a death knell for her dreams, and now Hagen was sounding what might well be her last hour on earth.[1]

Hagen, blow your horn and make the forest shake.[1]

—Asha Greyjoy to Hagen
