The Library Tower[1][2] or library tower[3] is a tower at Winterfell which contains the castle's library. It is maintained by Septon Chayle.[4]
Layout
The Library Tower is located across the bailey from the Great Keep.[3] Snug and warm, the Library Tower has high windows.[4] The tower contains shelves, benches, and a table. Winterfell's library contains more than a hundred books[5] and includes rare volumes, including a complete copy of Engines of War by Ayrmidon.[4] Curling around the tower's exterior are steep stone steps.[4]

The library of Winterfell has been collected by House Stark for centuries.[3] When Queen Alysanne Targaryen visited Winterfell in 58 AC, Lord Alaric Stark allowed her to browse the modest castle library.[6]
