Medger Cerwyn is the Lord of Cerwyn and the head of House Cerwyn. He has a daughter, Jonelle, and a son, Cley.

Medger is soft-spoken.[7]
History
Medger and his son Cley have often visited Winterfell.[4]
Recent Events
A Game of Thrones
Lord Cerwyn comes to Winterfell when Robb Stark calls his banners. He is accompanied by his daughter, Jonelle.[7] One of Lord Roose Bolton's men knifes one of Medger's at the Smoking Log.[7] Lord Jon Umber objects to being placed behind the Cerwyns or the Hornwoods in the order of march.[7]
Medger is placed under the command of Lord Bolton when the northern army splits at the Twins. He is captured at the battle on the Green Fork.[8]
A Clash of Kings
Tyrion Lannister, acting Hand of the King, unsuccessfully offers to trade Lord Medger and Ser Donnel Locke for Tion Frey in an exchange of prisoners.[9]
Lord Tywin Lannister holds captives from the Green Fork at the Tower of Dread in Harrenhal.[4] Arya Stark, disguised as a servant in the castle, hopes to sneak past the guards and ask Lord Cerwyn for assistance. Medger suffers from a serious wound taken at the battle, however, and never leaves his tower cell. Medger eventually dies of his wounds. Arya sees silent sisters take his remains from Harrenhal, with his body in a cloak of silk decorated with the battle-axe of House Cerwyn.[4]

According to Lord Roose Bolton, Ser Kyle Condon was the right hand of the late lord Medger Cerwyn.[10]

She did remember Lord Cerwyn, though. His lands had been close to Winterfell, so he and his son Cley had often visited. Yet as fate would have it, he was the only captive who was never seen; he was abed in a tower cell, recovering from a wound. For days and days Arya tried to work out how she might steal past the door guards to see him. If he knew her, he would be honor bound to help her.[4]

When Arya asked who it was, one of the guards told her that Lord Cerwyn had died. The words felt like a kick in the belly. He could never have helped you anyway, she thought as the sisters drove the wagon through the gate. He couldn't even help himself, you stupid mouse.[4]
