Melony Piper was a member of House Piper during the reigns of kings Aenys I Targaryen and Maegor I Targaryen.[1]
Appearance and Character
Melony was red-haired.[1]
History
She was the sister of Lord Jon Piper of Pinkmaiden, and had at least two other brothers.[1]
She became a favorite of Princess Rhaena Targaryen. It was only after Queen Alyssa invited Melony to join the royal party on King Aenys's coronation progress, that Rhaena finally put aside her sullenness to join the celebrations.[1]
During Prince Aegon and Princess Rhaena's progress in the westerlands, Melony arrived at Lannisport with her brothers to swear the loyalty of House Piper. When Prince Aegon rose against King Maegor, it was widely believed that Lord Jon joined due to Rhaena's childhood friend Melony winning him over to the cause.[1]
Melony donned man's mail, with a spear, and led the Piper levies against Maegor. She was slain in the Battle Beneath the Gods Eye in 43 AC along with three brothers.[1]
