Old John Mudd was a sellsword in service to the Golden Company. He was the father of Young John Mudd.[1]
History
Old John's surname is of a house that had once loomed large in the histories of the Seven Kingdoms.[2] House Mudd ruled as Kings of the Rivers and the Hills thousands of years ago until their line was extinguished with the death of King Tristifer V Mudd at the hands of the Andals.[3] He may or may not have been of House Mudd, as in the free companies a man can call himself whatever he chooses, and not all were genuine.[2] Besides his son, Young John Mudd,[1] Old John may have been related to a serjeant in the company, Lorimas Mudd.[4]
