A plump septon is a septon from the Faith of the Seven who serves at the Eyrie.
Appearance
The septon is plump.[1] His singsong voice is high and solemn.[2] He keeps a faceted crystal sphere in a soft cloth bag at his waist.[2]
Recent Events
A Game of Thrones
Tyrion Lannister, accused of having murdered Lord Jon Arryn, requests trial by combat while at the Eyrie. Bronn chooses to represent Tyrion in a duel against House Arryn's champion, Ser Vardis Egen.[3] Before the trial begins, the plump septon escorts Tyrion to the statue of Alyssa Arryn in the godswood of the Eyrie. The septon lifts his crystal into the air, spreading rainbows through the garden, and he prays to the Seven.[2]
A Storm of Swords
The widowed Lysa Arryn brings her own septon, possibly the plump septon, when she travels to the Fingers for her wedding with Lord Petyr Baelish.[4]
A Feast for Crows
Even before most of the guards and serving men descend to the Gates of the Moon before the onset of winter, Sansa Stark notes that the Eyrie has a sept but not a septon.[5]
