A Clash of Kings
Ragwyle is a member of the wildling scouting party commanded by Rattleshirt that kills Ebben and Squire Dalbridge and captures Jon Snow. She warns the outnumbered and surrounded Jon that whether he chooses to fight or flee, he is theirs. At Rattleshirts orders, Ragwyle shows him Ebben's decapitated head and tells Jon that he died bravely. Once Jon yields, Rattleshirt ordered her to kill Jon Snow rather than let him defect to the free folk. Ragwyle countered that if he wished to join them, they could allow him to demonstrate his prowess and the truth of his commitment. After Jon claimed he would do anything they asked, Rattleshirt instructed him to slay his comrade, Qhorin Halfhand.[1]
After the fight in which Jon kills the Halfhand, Ragwyle's fellow spearwife Ygritte reveals that he is the bastard of Lord Eddard Stark. Ragwyle is surprised and amused that a lord's bastard killed Qhorin Halfhand.[1]
A Storm of Swords
Ragwyle is among Rattleshirt's war band as they take Jon Snow to Mance Rayder. The group divided his and Qhorin Halfhand's gear amongst themselves, and Ragwayle took Jon's gloves.[2]
