Robb Rivers, known as Red Robb Rivers and the Bowman of Raventree, was a bastard of House Blackwood of Raventree Hall.[1]

Character

Robb was said to be the finest archer in all Westeros.[1]

History

Fighting on the side of the blacks, Robb brought three hundred archers to the Battle by the Lakeshore during the Dance of the Dragons. Caught by armies from the riverlands and the north, Lord Humfrey Lefford sent ravens to Prince Aemond Targaryen at Harrenhal for assistance. However, Robb used his archery to prevent any of the ravens from reaching Aemond.[1] Robb and two of his archers later slew Ser Criston Cole during the Butcher's Ball.[1]

Robb's bowmen covered Ser Garibald Grey's men as they retreated during the First Battle of Tumbleton.[1] It is unknown if Robb survived the battle, which was a victory for the greens.[N 2]

Quotes

Though a dozen birds took wing, not one ever reached the prince; Red Robb Rivers, said to be the finest archer in all Westeros, took them down on the wing.[1]

Notes

  1. It is possible that, like other highborn bastards, he used his father's house sigil with reversed colors.
  2. Robb and his archers were positioned on the town walls during the First Battle of Tumbleton before the Two Betrayers burned it. In the aftermath of the Second Battle of Tumbleton, Billy Burley was considered the best archer in Lord Benjicot Blackwood's service despite Robb fighting for his family and being considered the best archer in Westeros. Therefore, Robb likely died during the First Battle of Tumbleton.
