Vale of Shadows

The Vale of Shadows[1] is a river valley in the Shadow Lands northeast of Asshai.[2] The valley is a narrow cleft in the mountains through which the river Ash passes on its way from the Mountains of the Morn to the Jade Sea.[3] The mountain cliffs are so high and steep that it is said no light falls within the valley except at noon.[1] Demons and dragons and worse things are said to live in caves in the cliffs.[3] At the heart of the valley is the ruined city of Stygai.[3]
