Zollo is a Dothraki member of the Brave Companions.
Appearance and Character
Zollo is fat.[5] He wields an arakh,[5] a knife,[5] and a whip.[6]
Ser Jaime Lannister thinks of the Dothraki as Zollo the Fat[1] and believes him to be one of the worst members of the Brave Companions.[7]
Recent Events
A Storm of Swords
Vargo Hoat leads a dozen Brave Companions in sacking a small sept near Maidenpool; Zollo pries out the chalcedony eyes from a statue of the Mother. As they loot, Urswyck arrives with the captive Ser Jaime Lannister and Brienne of Tarth. Vargo says he will send a message to Lord Tywin Lannister and has Zollo cut off Jaime's sword hand with his arakh.[5][7]
On the way back to Harrenhal, Zollo, Shagwell and Rorge argue over who will rape Brienne first, but Jaime thwarts them by convincing the sellswords that Lord Selwyn Tarth will ransom an unharmed Brienne with sapphires.[7]
Zollo is one of the many Brave Companions who remain behind at Harrenhal after several failed foraging runs. He is present when Brienne is thrown into the bear pit and raises his whip when Jaime comes back to save her, but Vargo orders him to stand down.[6]
A Feast For Crows
While in Harrenhal, Jaime thinks to himself that the Stranger may have made off with Vargo Hoat before he could get around to him, but fat Zollo is still out there, with Shagwell, Rorge, Faithful Urswyck, and the rest.[8]
Quotes
The fat Dothraki put aside his knife to unsheathe a huge curved arakh, the wickedly sharp scythe-sword the horselords loved.[5]
