Howland Reed is the Lord of Greywater Watch and holds dominion over the crannogmen of the Neck. Reed’s children are Meera, a girl of fifteen years, and Jojen, a boy of thirteen years. He is one of Eddard Stark's closest friends.[1]

A Clash of Kings
At the onset of the War of the Five Kings, Howland sent his teenaged children, Jojen and Meera, to pledge the Reeds to Robb Stark as King of the North.[1] His crannogmen have defended the Neck against invaders, from House Lannister to Ironmen.
