Alf known as Alf of Runnymud is a builder of the Night's Watch. After Stannis Baratheon and Melisandre established at Castle Black, Alf converted to the faith of R'hllor.

A Dance with Dragons
Alf gathers with other members of the Night's Watch at the gate of Castle Black after word spreads that the heads of three rangers were found impaled upon spears on the other side of the Wall. When Lord Commander Jon Snow and his party return from inspecting the heads, Alf inquires if his friend Garth Greyfeather is among them. He lets out a howl of grief upon learning that Garth was dead, and has to escorted to a bed and given mulled wine by Hobb.[1]
