Lord Daemon Velaryon was a member of House Velaryon and the Master of Ships to Aegon the Conqueror during the War of Conquest. After House Arryn refused to bend the knee, Aegon sent Daemon to take the coastal city of Gulltown. However, the Vale fleet managed to repel the Targaryen fleet. Daemon perished during the battle. Due to the timeline of events it is possible Daemon was a brother or nephew of Velena Velaryon. [1]
