Chiggen is a sellsword who rides with Bronn.
Appearance and Character
[edit]Chiggen, who has yellow teeth,[1] carries a sword[1] and wears a chainmail hauberk.[2] Tyrion Lannister considers him lowborn scum.[3]

[edit]Chiggen and Bronn answer Lady Catelyn Stark's call when she takes Tyrion Lannister into custody at the inn at the crossroads.[4][1]
The sellswords are part of Catelyn's escort during her flight to the Eyrie, through the Mountains of the Moon in the Vale of Arryn. In order to feed the group, Chiggen kills Tyrion's mount, which saddens the dwarf for the horse had been given to him by his brother, Ser Jaime Lannister, for his twenty-third name day.[1]
When the party is attacked by Vale mountain clansmen, Chiggen attacks the naked face of a mailed rider with his sword. He loots the corpses of the fallen brigands after the fighting ends.[1]
Chiggen receives an arrow in the belly in a second attack by the clans. To end his cries of pain, which threaten to bring the clansmen down on them, Bronn slits Chiggen's throat and then tells Catelyn that Chiggen died of his arrow wound.[3] Tyrion, who becomes closer with Bronn after Chiggen's death, takes the fallen man's chainmail hauberk.[2]
