Wonders Made by Man is one of two books written by Lomas Longstrider, a famous traveler. It records nine man-made wonders of the known world, while the second book, Wonders, records seven natural wonders.

[edit]Valyrian roads are listed as the fourth of the nine wonders. Six other wonders have been confirmed, though in unknown order.
The confirmed wonders are:
- The Valyrian roads.[1]
- The Wall.[2][3]
- The Titan of Braavos.[3]
- The triple wall of Qarth.[4]
- The three bells of Norvos, Noom, Narrah, and Nyel.[5]
- The Long Bridge of Volantis, the longest bridge in the world.[6]
- The Palace With a Thousand Rooms in Sarnath (now in ruins after the city was destroyed by the Dothraki).[7]
Possible Wonders
[edit]Speculatively, fans have considered the possibility of the Hightower of Oldtown (the tallest structure in the Seven Kingdoms), Harrenhal (the largest castle in the Seven Kingdoms),[N 1] and the Five Forts (massive fortresses along the northeastern boundaries of the Golden Empire of Yi Ti) as being among the other man-made wonders.[9]
A fourth possibility are the ruins of the Great Pyramid of Ghis, which Lomas is known to have visited.[10] Lomas is also known to have visited the ruins of the festival city of Chroyane, which he describes in the book.[11] He visited the Summer Isles in search for wonders as well.[12]

[edit]- ↑ It is unlikely that Harrenhal is one of the wonders, because it was only finished in 2 BC,[8] while Lomas Longstrider likely lived at least some time before that, since he saw the Palace With a Thousand Rooms before its destruction.[7]
