Gormon Massey was the Lord of Stonedance and the head of House Massey during the reigns of King Viserys I Targaryen and Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen.[1]
In the television adaptation House of the Dragon, Gormon is portrayed by James Dreyfus.[2]
History
As predicted by Ser Otto Hightower, upon the death of King Viserys I Targaryen, Lord Gormon Massey sided with Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and the blacks during the Dance of the Dragons, sitting among the lesser lords of the black council at Dragonstone. Lord Massey counted himself among Rhaenyra's loyalists, well-aware that King Aegon II Targaryen would name him a traitor, having already received a summons from King's Landing demanding an oath of loyalty from him.[3]
When Prince Jacaerys Velaryon called for dragonriders, Gormon made an attempt to ride Vermithor, but was burned to death on approach.[1]
House of the Dragon
In House of the Dragon, it is specified that Gormon is the father of Elinda Massey, one of Rhaenyra's ladies-in-waiting.[2]
