Jeyne Farman is a noblewoman of House Farman. She is the sister of Lord Sebaston Farman, the Lord of Fair Isle, and is the wife of Ser Gareth Clifton.[1]
Appearance and Character
As a child, Jeyne was plump and pasty-faced. She was timid, and always hung back or hid behind her friends. Cersei Lannister considered Jeyne to be stupid and fat, and afraid of every shadow.[2] She recalls Jeyne as a friend who betrayed her.[3]
History
Jeyne was a childhood friend and bedmaid of Cersei Lannister at Casterly Rock, along with another bedmaid and friend, Melara Hetherspoon. In 276 AC, the girls attended the tourney hosted by Lord Tywin Lannister in Lannisport in honor of Prince Viserys's birth. The first night of the tourney, Cersei decided to visit the witch woman Maggy the Frog with Melara and Jeyne to have their fortunes told,[4] after Melara told them tales of Maggy's powers she had heard from the Casterly Rock serving girls,[2] and because Cersei wanted to show her friends that a queen and a lioness had no fears.[4]
That night, Cersei and her friends sneaked out of their beds to seek Maggy's tent on the tourney grounds, with the timid Jeyne hanging back behind them. They entered the tent to find that the sorceress was sleeping, and Cersei kicked her bed and demanded she wake up and tell their fortunes. However, when Maggy opened her yellow and crusted eyes, the sight of them caused Jeyne to flee into the night, shrieking with fear, and she never heard her future.[2][4]
Later, Jeyne married one of her brother Lord Sebaston's bannermen,[2] Ser Gareth Clifton,[1] and had a dozen children.[2]

A Feast for Crows
Jeyne still lives on Fair Isle with her husband and children.[2]
Queen Regent Cersei Lannister has a nightmare about the night when she, Jeyne, and Melara Hetherspoon went together to visit Maggy the Frog in Lannisport. Cersei thinks that perhaps Jeyne was the wisest of all of them when she fled without hearing her future, since afterwards she had a pleasant life, unlike Melara who died soon afterwards.[2]

Quotes
Cersei did not care to think about Senelle. She repaid my kindness with betrayal. Sansa Stark had done the same. So had Melara Hetherspoon and fat Jeyne Farman when the three of them were girls. I would never have gone into that tent if not for them. I would never have allowed Maggy the Frog to taste my morrows in a drop of blood.[3]

Fat Jeyne Farman hung back as she always did. It was a wonder she had come this far.[2]

Lord Tywin's daughter was the first through the flap, with Melara close behind her. Jeyne Farman came last, and tried to hide behind the other two, the way she always did.[2]
—thoughts of Cersei Lannister
Plump stupid timid little Jeyne, pasty-faced and fat and scared of every shadow. She was the wise one, though. Jeyne lived on Fair Isle still. She had married one of her lord brother's bannermen and whelped a dozen children.[2]
