Aemon Rivers is a knight and the only son of of a lady of House Charlton and Ser Walder Rivers, the eldest of Lord Walder Frey's bastards.^[5]^[1]

Character

According to his grandfather, Lord Walder, Aemon never has anything sensible to say.^[6]

Like his father, Aemon also has a personal blazon, which combines a variant of the Frey sigil in reversed colors,^[5] a popular form of heraldry among bastards,^[7] with the standard sigil of House Charlton. The use of the standard Charlton arms suggests Aemon himself is trueborn,^[5] although his grandfather dismisses him as a bastard son.^[6]

Quotes

Walder: Heh, are you another Walda?

Walda: I'm Ser Aemon Rivers's Walda, lord great grandfather.

Walder: How long have you been talking? Not that you're like to have anything sensible to say, your father never did. He's a bastard's son besides, heh. Go away, I wanted only Freys up here. The King in the North has no interest in base stock.^[6]
