A Feast for Crows

Ser Corliss is sworn to King Stannis Baratheon. He is among the queen's men who go north to the Wall with Stannis.^[2]

A Dance with Dragons

After the battle beneath the Wall, Corliss commands the guards when free folk are allowed to pass through the Wall to Castle Black. Those who cross are required to throw pieces of weirwood into a fire. After a belligerent wilding is killed by queen's men, Corliss tosses the body into the fire pit.^[3]

When a blizzard slows Stannis's army during the march on Winterfell, a fearful Corliss blames it on the old gods of the north. As conditions worsen, Ser Richard Horpe tells Corliss that the weakest men are beyond saving. Hugo Wull is dismissive of the storm, however, and Corliss is incredulous at the clan chief's willingness to die in battle.^[4]

Stannis's host becomes snowbound at a crofters' village, with Corliss blaming the storm on the northmen and their weirwoods. Four Peasebury men are caught committing cannibalism, so they are to be sacrificed to R'hllor. One of the condemned, a serjeant desiring a quicker death, insults the queen's men, thereby goading Ser Clayton Suggs into cutting his throat. Corliss then lights the pyres with his torch, burning the three other condemned men and the body of the serjeant.^[5]
