A Clash of Kings
Theon Greyjoy returns to the Iron Islands after nearly a decade of absence since Greyjoy's Rebellion. To see what kind of man her brother has become, Asha Greyjoy claims to be "Esgred", the wife of the shipwright Sigrin, when she encounters Theon at Lordsport. When Asha reveals her true identity at Pyke, Theon feels he has been made a fool.[1] Asha later explains who Esgred actually is to Theon during dinner.[1]

Traumatized by his experiences with Ramsay Bolton, Theon is able to remember that Asha had once gone by the name of Esgred when he reunites with his sister at the crofters' village in the wolfswood.[2]
