Lord Commander Qorgyle was a member of House Qorgyle and was the 996th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. His given name has not been revealed.
History
Lord Commander Qorgyle entered the Night's Watch some time before Ser Denys Mallister.[2] During his term, Castle Black sent patrols east towards Eastwatch-by-the-Sea every third day and west towards the Shadow Tower every second day.[3]
The Lord Commander once visited Winterfell with an escort of a dozen men, including Mance Rayder, to meet with Lord Eddard Stark. During the visit, Eddard's sons Robb Stark and Jon Snow piled up snow above a gate to dump on a unsuspecting passerby. Mance caught them but did not reveal their prank, and the boys eventually dropped the snow onto Tomard.[4]
After Qorgyle's death, Jeor Mormont was chosen as the new Lord Commander in 288 AC.[1]
