Lord Rykker was a head of House Rykker during the rign of King Aerys II.
History
Following the Defiance of Duskendale and the fall of House Darklyn in 277 AC, King Aerys II Targaryen gave Duskendale and all its lands and incomes to House Rykker,[1] certainly as a reward to Lord Rykker, who was presumably one of his most firm supporters. So much so that he was dubbed one of the "lickspittle lords" by Maester Yandel in his work The World of Ice and Fire.[2]
During the feast that King Aerys II Targaryen threw when Cersei Lannister first came to court, Lord Owen Merryweather talked about raising taxes on wine, prompting Lord Rykker to joke about Lord Tywin Lannister shitting gold. Tywin stared at the lord until Rykker gave up and walked away.[3]
Lord Rykker most likely remained loyal to King Aerys during Robert's Rebellion, as one of his relatives, Ser Jaremy Rykker, fought for Aerys on the battlements during the Sack of King's Landing in 283 AC, after which he was given the choice of execution or the Wall by Lord Tywin, choosing the Night's Watch.[4] His fate remains unknown.
He was eventually succeeded by Renfred Rykker.[5]
