Martyn fought alongside Lord Eddard Stark during Robert's Rebellion. He was slain at the tower of joy in the Red Mountains of Dorne during a fight with three of King Aerys II Targaryen's Kingsguard. Martyn is buried next the tower, unlike his father and his son, Jory, who both rest at Winterfell.
