The Moon Brothers are one of the Vale mountain clans of the Mountains of the Moon. They have close ties with the Black Ears.

[edit]Lharys claims it was either members of the Milk Snakes or the Moon Brothers who were the first to descend upon Catelyn Stark's party in the Mountains of the Moon.[1]
The Moon Brothers are among the clans who join Tyrion Lannister on the promise of weapons and armor. The party with Tyrion is led by Ulf, the son of Umar.[2] Ulf demands blood money when three Stone Crows kill a Moon Brother, but Conn and Shagga refuse to pay.[3]
Moon Brothers participate in the battle on the Green Fork. After the fighting ends, Tyrion finds the corpses of Ulf and a dozen other Moon Brothers.[3]
A Clash of Kings
[edit]Moon Brothers led by Crawn[4] continue with Tyrion to King's Landing, and Tyrion instructs that they be garrisoned separately from the Stone Crows in the barracks beneath the Tower of the Hand.[5] They guard the tower[6] and eat in the Small Hall.[7]
In preparation for Stannis Baratheon's arrival before the gates of King's Landing, Tyrion sends the Black Ears and the Moon Brothers into the kingswood to harass and harry Stannis's army on its march to King's Landing before the Battle of the Blackwater.[8]
