Moreo has a forked green beard. Hailing from Tyrosh, he can speak the Common Tongue fluently.[2]

History

Moreo has sailed the Narrow Sea for roughly thirty years, first as oarsman, then as quartermaster, and now as captain of trading galleys. Storm Dancer is his fourth ship and the fastest of them.[2]

Recent Events

A Game of Thrones

Moreo is at White Harbor with his ship when Catelyn Stark and Ser Rodrik Cassel arrive to take passage south to King's Landing. They book passage on Storm Dancer, which is the swiftest available in the harbor.[2]

When the galley arrives at the capital, Moreo suggests the travelers stay at an old inn on Eel Alley. Catelyn rewards each of his oarsmen with a silver stag. Moreo offers to hold onto his crew's silver until they return to Tyrosh, but Catelyn insists on personally paying each oarsman.[2]

The City Watch of King's Landing arrive at the old inn with orders to escort Catelyn to Lord Petyr Baelish at the Red Keep; Catelyn assumes that Moreo sold her whereabouts for a price. When Catelyn asks Petyr how he knew she was in the city, her childhood friend replies that Lord Varys knows all.[2]

A Dance with Dragons

Storm Dancer is in White Harbor when Lord Davos Seaworth arrives on Merry Midwife.[3]

Quotes

Moreo: My good friend. It is so fine to see you looking better.
Rodrik: Yes. I haven't wanted to die for almost two days now.[2]

— Moreo and Rodrik Cassel

Moreo: Yet first, if I may be so bold, there is the matter of the second half of the payment we agreed upon. And of course the extra silver you were so kind as to promise. Sixty stags, I believe it was.

Catelyn: For the oarmen.
Moreo: Oh, of a certainty. Though perhaps I should hold it for them until we return to Tyrosh. For the sake of their wives and children. If you give them the silver here, my lady, they will dice it away or spend it all for a night's pleasure.
Rodrik: There are worse things to spend money on. Winter is coming.
Catelyn: A man must make his own choices. They earned the silver. How they spend it is no concern of mine.

Moreo: As you say, my lady.[2]

The Tyroshi knew who they were and where they were, damn him. She hoped he'd gotten a good price for the information.[2]
