The palace of Khal Drogo is a massive, cavernous wooden feasting hall in Vaes Dothrak.
Lay out
Located near the Eastern Market, the palace of Khal Drogo is a massive, cavernous wooden feasting hall of rough-hewn logs that make walls rising forty feet high. It has a silk roof which can be raised or lowered.[1] Inside the hall are three firepits. Those high in honor sit at a high bench, and those low in honor must sit at the back of the long hall.[2] Surrounding the palace are horse yards fenced with high hedges, firepits, and hundreds of grass-covered round earthen houses.[1]
History
All of the buildings in Vaes Dothrak were built by slaves brought from the lands the Dothraki have plundered.[1]
Recent Events
A Game of Thrones
After wedding Khal Drogo outside Pentos,[3] Daenerys Targaryen travels with his khalasar to Vaes Dothrak.[1] When a drunken Viserys Targaryen threatens his sister with an unsheathed sword in the long hall and demands the crown he was promised by Drogo, the khal has him killed by having molten gold poured on his head.[2]
