The Eastern Market is one of two markets found at Vaes Dothrak, the other being the Western Market.
Market
Caravans from Yi Ti, Asshai, and the Shadow Lands stop at the Eastern Market to trade,[1] as do spellsingers, Qartheen, Shadow Men, and warrior maids from Bayasabhad, Shamyriana, and Kayakayanaya.[2] Animals in the market's vicinity include elephants, zorses, and caged manticores.[2]
While crossing the Dothraki sea to reach Vaes Dothrak, caravans give handsome gifts to khals for safe passage.[3] The Dothraki themselves are disinterested in trading, but they allow the trading caravans to conduct their business. Traders are expected to remain peaceful in the city, not profane the Mother of Mountains or the Womb of the World, and honor the dosh khaleen with gifts of salt, silver, and seed.[2]

When the khalasar of Khal Drogo returns to Vaes Dothrak, it stops at his feasting hall near the Eastern Market.[1]
Daenerys Targaryen, Drogo's pregnant bride, enjoys spending her mornings at the Eastern Market, where she eats tree eggs, locust pie, and green noodles. She ultimately prefers the Western Market, however, as it reminds her of home.[2]
