The plaza outside the Great Sept is a great plaza in front of the Great Sept of Baelor in King's Landing.

Layout

The plaza outside the Great Sept is made of white marble and features a statue of King Baelor the Blessed standing tall and serene upon a plinth, his face a study of benevolence.[1] Large gardens, capable of holding hundreds of people, surround the sept,[2] and marble steps lead up to the building.[3]

History

During the wedding of Robert I Baratheon and Cersei Lannister, a crowd of thousands gathered on the plaza outside the Great Sept to cheer for the couple. When Robert remarked that every face was smiling, Cersei noticed that her brother Jaime was not.[4]

Quotes

Cersei: Have you seen what they have done to Blessed Baelor's statue? They befoul the plaza with their pigs and goats and night soil.
High Sparrow: Night soil can be washed away more easily than blood, Your Grace. If the plaza was befouled, it was befouled by the execution that was done here.[4]
