Terrax was a dragon ridden by Jaenara Belaerys, a noblewoman and dragonrider from Valyria.
History
Jaenara flew Terrax further south into Sothoryos than anyone had ever gone before.[1]
Behind the Scenes
Terrax may be a reference by George R. R. Martin to Terrax the Tamer, an enemy of the Fantastic Four. Martin grew up a fan of Marvel Comics, including the Fantastic Four.[2]
