Recent Events
A Dance with Dragons
Maester Theomore is present in the Merman's Court when Lord Davos Seaworth comes to treat with Wyman Manderly, Lord of White Harbor, on behalf of Stannis Baratheon. Theomore supports King Tommen I Baratheon's claim to the Iron Throne as a son of the late King Robert I Baratheon, Stannis's elder brother. When Davos insists that Tommen is a bastard sired by Ser Jaime Lannister, Theomore declares that Stannis has no proof of incest and may be lying to claim the throne.[3]
Lord Wyman later reveals to Davos that he does not trust Theomore with his messages, due to his relationship to House Lannister of Casterly Rock.[2]
Quotes by Theomore
Theomore: Stannis Baratheon was brother to our late King Robert, may the Father judge him justly. Tommen is the issue of Robert's body. The laws of succession are clear in such a case. A son must come before a brother.
Wyman: Maester Theomore speaks truly. He is wise in all such matters, and has always given me good counsel.
Davos: A trueborn son comes before a brother, but Tommen-called-Baratheon is bastard-born, as his brother Joffrey was before him. They were sired by the Kingslayer, in defiance of all the laws of gods and men.[3]—Theomore, Wyman Manderly, and Davos Seaworth
Theomore: Solemn oaths were sworn to the Starks of Winterfell, aye. But Winterfell has fallen and House Stark has been extinguished.
Wylla: That's because they killed them all![3]—Theomore and Wylla Manderly
Quotes about Theomore
Left of the high seat stood a maester nigh as fat as the lord he served, a rosy-cheeked man with thick lips and a head of golden curls.[3]
—thoughts of Davos Seaworth
If Stannis wonders that my letters say so little, it is because I dare not even trust my maester. Theomore is all head and no heart. You heard him in my hall. Maesters are supposed to put aside old loyalties when they don their chains, but I cannot forget that Theomore was born a Lannister of Lannisport and claims some distant kinship to the Lannisters of Casterly Rock.[2]
