[edit]Lord Roote was the owner of a large boat with carved wooden horse heads at the fore and aft, known as "Old King Andahar's two-headed water horse."[1]

[edit]While taking Arya Stark to the Twins, Sandor Clegane decides to go to Lord Harroway's Town and use Lord Roote's two-headed water horse to cross the river. At the holdfast in Harroway's, encounter a bent-backed man and his companions, a number of whom look like they could be his relatives, who agree to take them across on Lord Roote's boat. Arya wonders if a man with a crossbow who watches them cross from the holdfast is Lord Roote. She thinks the man does not look much like a lord, but also considers that she doesn't look much like a lady either.[1]
