[edit]Tyroshi and Braavosi make dyes from substances secreted by sea snails, and their dyes have become famous throughout the known world.[2][3]
Dyers often have their hands stained in different colors, such as black,[4] purple,[4] or green.[5]
The City Watch of King's Landing are known as the gold cloaks because of their dyed cloaks.[6]
The cave dwellers who live beyond the Wall dye their faces blue, purple, and green.[7]

[edit]In the Western Market of Vaes Dothrak, Daenerys Targaryen sees a cloth trader from Yi Ti haggling over the price of green dye with a Pentoshi.[10]
The ivory silk gown given by Queen Cersei Lannister to Sansa Stark is dyed black so that Sansa can wear it to mourn the late King Robert I Baratheon.[11]

A Feast for Crows
[edit]Septa Eglantine put brown dye in Princess Myrcella Baratheon's hair to disguise the child during the journey to Dorne.[13]
Lysa Arryn gave hair dye to Sansa to change her hair from auburn to a burnt brown.[14]
Ironborn capture a Tyroshi merchantmen and use dyes in its hold to color their beards in an effort to sneak into Oldtown. Their plan is halted by Lady of the Tower, however.[15]
